An aged brass beehive escutcheon. Beautiful quality, classic design in solid brass applied with a polished aged finish. The patina is enhanced by the darker areas giving an appearance of something that has been in situ for many years. The term 'Beehive' refers to the repeat reeded detailing. Beehive became a highly popular design born in the Regency era and used heavily throughout the Victorian period and into the early 20th Century.
